“He has been detained at the Denpasar Regional Police,” said Bali Police Public Relations Director, Commissioner Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, on Wednesday (27/3/2024), quoted from detikBali.
The attempted kidnapping of NPAPSD (8) occurred on Monday (25/3/2024) around 13:30 local time. Initially, NPAPSD along with her cousin, KNAAP (8), went to a shop. They passed by DCB’s house. He then engaged them in conversation using English.
During the conversation, DCB suddenly grabbed NPAPSD and carried her away. Moreover, the foreigner brought her into the yard of his residence.
Frightened, NPAPSD tried to break free and shouted for help. DCB then placed a knife on the table.
NPAPSD’s family came looking for her. They broke open the gate of DCB’s house.
NPAPSD immediately ran towards her uncle and aunt who rescued her. Feeling exposed, DCB then brandished the knife.
Following the incident, the victim’s father, Artha (33), went to the Denpasar Regional Police to report it. The victim and her family were then directed to the Women and Children Protection Unit of the Denpasar Regional Police for further examination.
