JAKARTA, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) — A record-breaking 55 NBA players will compete in the 2023 Basketball World Cup, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) revealed on its official website Friday.
This roster, representing 20 distinct countries and regions, surpasses the previous record of 54 players from 17 countries and regions set at the 2019 World Cup in China.
The lineup includes ten former NBA All-Stars, such as Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The 2023 FIBA World Cup is slated to take place in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia from Aug. 25 through Sept. 10.
